Denver Botanic Gardens Free Library

Free library at the Denver Botanic Gardens

First, a plug for riding the Bustang commuter bus (South Line) to Denver. I do love to sit and look out the big windows, have someone else drive, plus have a bathroom available. On this trip to Denver though, I drove up with a friend who was taking a botanical illustration class.

Who knew that the ground level of the Freyer-Newman Center at the corner of York St & 11th Av at the Denver Botanic Gardens at York Street, has free admission to the library there?

To the left as I entered the library (in mid-May 2023) was a small donation-based section of books where I found several exciting titles. They looked like they’d been part of someone’s home library of art/history books.

The middle book was quite sad in parts and included photos of individuals that I don’t think the photographers necessarily had permission to photograph.

There is an art gallery section upstairs where I enjoyed this exhibit with work by Tamara Kostianovsky.

It was that time of year, and there were lots of Spring school field trips taking place. The kids were having a wild time flinging themselves down the sides of this outdoor area opposite the main building.
