Announcing He{Art}space Media

A place to connect through Art, talk about the Trauma in all of our life-stories, and in the process enrich our Community.

A place to connect … through ART … safely talk about the Trauma in all of our life-stories, and in the process … enrich our Communities.

Here on my blog, I’ll include posts about Things-To-Do in the Colorado Springs area that involve all types of art.

I’ve experienced these ways of connecting to especially include layers and enrichment that add to the fabric of society.

For years I wrote Arts & Culture features and profiles of artists for local community newspapers. With the closing of many of these in recent years, there’s a hole in the communication/media space. We need this kind of news. For one thing, to know what our neighbors are doing that’s fun and creative and how to join in.

Articles will include commentary about root reasons people abuse, baseline societal inequities, and endeavors people undertake to meet these challenges in artistic and healing ways.

Fred Rogers said, “Anything that’s human is mentionable and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings they become less overwhelming, less upsetting and less scary.”

This is the idea behind talking about in safe spaces the harms that we’ve experienced in our lives. We all have psychological, spiritual and emotional injuries. Life is like that. Also trauma is not separate from our everyday lives. It’s in us and therefore with us everywhere.

So let’s increase awareness in order to achieve many more just, calm shared interactions and less arbitrary violence in our world.

And to listen to vital, unscripted, animated conversations regarding these subjects check out the Women’s Words Podcast.

An increased sense of connection, ability to solve shared problems and the creation of a stronger culture are the goals!
